Oganov is fighting on the Hatton-Castillo undercard. He's 26-0 26KO; very suspect opponents however. Has anyone seen him fight? Thoughts? Thanks

He is no longer on the card.

He suddenly got pulled off of the card and then it was announced a few days later that he had signed with Gary Shaw.

Ive seen a few of his fights. Raw power. Defence is leaky.

Dropped LH Paul Briggs in a sparring and apparently did some damage. He is trained by Jeff Fenech.

He's long in the tooth to be undiscovered with his record.

That tells me all I need to know.

He had 'signed' for Hobson/FA but now Shaw has him. So who knows, next week he may have signed for Balboa Promotions.

Not quite...he has been based in Australia for a few years now but basically has been idle for the most part of that time as he couldn't get fights.

His level of comp exagerates his record...but he can whack.

I know what your saying but a knockout percentage like that and nobodoy from the states took a look at him before he got to 30?

Sounds strange.

I imagine he'll be exposed as a padded myth before too long.

I could, of course, be wrong.

Bear in mind that going to the states would not necessarily be the best career move even if he did receive offers.

Being with Fenech and Angelo Hyder, he is with a team that has a knack for getting guys big fights. Sakio Bika, the Hussein bros, useless heavyweight Bob Mirovic, Shannon Taylor are a few examples of fighters that have been able to go through the back door so to speak before getting a nice payday or meaningful fight.

He's shifted over to Gary Shaw now..I suspect he basically outgrew Australian boxing.

Good insight. Cheers.

But... I think his run will come to an end once the competition gets hotter. I'd back against him against any top 5 middlewight.

I've only seen his fight against Grant, so I don't know how much my assessment is worth. Still, Richard's a pretty awkward guy to fight and usually gives anyone not A-class a bunch of trouble. Oganov had no problem walking right through him, taking him to the ropes, keeping him on the ropes and pretty much beating his ass.

Clearly he's strong, can punch and he's definitely physically talented, but for some reason he just kinda strikes me as a fighter whose technical ability is suffering because of mediocre opposition. He was holding his hands low a lot, leaping in from 8 feet away, throwing really wide shots and not really exhibiting much defense. Not that he really had to against a guy he knew couldn't hurt him, but it seems like that could be a habit. Hopefully not, because that's when prospects step up and lose that 0.

His punching power would clearly be a threat to most though.
