Hi guys,
I'm heading to "the US and A" in August, and will be spending a few days in NY before heading to Vegas.
While I've been to New York before, this will be my first time in Vegas, so I'd like to get some ideas on good cheap accommodation, things I should should see and do (ie get dressed as Elvis and marry a stripper/Britney Spears).
Also, can you give me an idea of which domestic airlines are cheap to fly from NY to Vegas and Vegas to LA.
Thanks guys. Any info will be appreciated.

Cheapest domestic flights - JetBlue
There's too much to do in Vegas. Shows, drinking, women, drinking, gambling, drinking.

Vegas is cheapest during the week, but tends to be somewhat dead. Especially summer.
I've stayed pretty cheaply at the Tropicana and Imperial Palace. Both are located close enough to monorail stations so you can get around pretty easily.
Of course the cheapest places are off-strip. Just go to a travel site and it'll list the cheapest places.

For airfare (their international rates are even better than domestic), try these folks on for size:
http://www.cheapoair.com/Some hotels that always have decent to inexpensive rates, yet won't place you way off the strip. You won't spend much if any time in your room anyhow.

Thanks Kitty.
I actually stumbled onto that site last week and thought it looked pretty good. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any cheaper airlines with no affiliation to cheapoair.com. I'll compare it with Jet Blue and see how I go.
Smelodies, I certainly won't hook with a hooker, but I may strip with a stripper if the opportunity arises.
I hear that the Hard Rock Hotel is pretty good. Anyone here have a testamonial?

Well, I can't help you with accommodations. I lived there so I never had to stay at a hotel.
But as for things to do...the shows are always good. O or one of the other Circ du Soleil shows are always pretty good. I recommend Mystere at the Treasure Island (but I am biased since my mom does the costuming, props and artwork for that show).
If you like magic hit up a Lance Burton or a Penn and Teller show.
There's always something to see. You can visit the Elvis museum.
The Bellagio or the Wynn usually has some really cool art or museum exhibit making the rounds.
Mandalay Bay's shark reef is pretty cool.
I don't recommend that you gamble since I always viewed it as a waste of money (but that's just my opinion).
A visit to the Valley of Fire is pretty cool if you are the out doors type of person.
If you are a golfer there are plenty of places to go
There are plenty of places to eat and if you are into shopping there are stores everywhere.
There probably will be a fight going on somewhere in town. When I lived there New Orleans had fights as did a number of the Station Casinos (those are scattered around town).
Clubs are everywhere so go and have fun. And if you are into strippers, I've heard Club Paradise is pretty good (located across the street from the Hard Rock Casino). I've also heard Olympic Gardens is worth a visit. Jaguars is supposed to be pretty nice too (I had a friend that danced there).
If you are a fellow of looser morals there are also the bunny ranches two hours away in Pahrump. But I've never been so I have no idea what you are getting. Which reminds me to debunk a myth for you. Prostitution is NOT legal in Las Vegas (and all of Clark County). You'll have to go to Nye county for that shit.
So there you go a huge list ranging from family friendly to the not so family friendly.
And please bear in mind that I haven't been home in three years so there may have been some changes since I left. BUt please have a good time. Las Vegas is my home town and I love it with all my heart (warts and all).

I say everyone must do a Saturday there once in their life. I aged 10 years there which makes me 70.

Best places to stay if you are trying to be around women, Hard Rock or The Palms.
But both are pricey, and neither are on The Strip, also, not sure what you are trying to spend.
You can get cheap rooms @ Excalibur, Tropicana, Hooters, Monte Carlo...and still be right in the middle of everything.

NY NY is not even in the ballpark.
As for the night in question, we (me and three other cats) went to a club called Ice (it's closed now) and got a VIP table. Man we had 4 bottles of Grey and all that shitty tecno music and my ass was faded. I WALKED back to the hard rock even though we had a limo.
I got in bed and that was that. I woke up at 12:00 noon and right then and there, my boy was holding two bagels as a 'get the fuck out of here' present.
The women, before they left had me dying.
One said "did we leave anything?"
The other "yeah, our dignity."
They weren't fine but my boy must have put in some work.

In regards to accommodation, I want something cheap. Tropicana was mentioned before and it looks good. I'll check out those others you suggested too. Thanks.
When it comes to partying, I don't mind paying a bit more if the atmosphere is good and the chicks are smokin'. I'll try and get to both the Hard Rock and The Palms if I can.
And I've got until the end of July to get into shape. It shouldn't be a problem for me. The only problem is that before I reach America, I will be spending two weeks in Europe, which could easily ruin 6 weeks of training.
To everyone here, thanks for the advice. This is better than I could've hoped for.

Damage, if you are looking at Tropicana, look at Excalibur or Monte Carlo. Excalibur is nicer and bigger. Monte Carlo will cost a little more, but is also nicer, and still fair priced.
Any of those you are in walking distance to anywhere on the strip. There are clubs all over, I'm just saying, for the highest quality women, you'll have ti catch a cab away from the strip to Palms or Hard Rock. But Excalibur or Monte Carlo, and you are right in the middle of everything.
