So I was up at a ridiculous hour last night and GTA IV ran a countdown until the preview comes out for a half hour on FX.

Has anyone heard/read anything about it? I'm excited because the GTA series is probably my favorite games.

I've actually seen the same promo for a couple nights now. Will have to wait till tomorrow.

The promo is just the countdown to the trailer. The website shows the same damn thing.

R U guys talking about the video game? I hope so because otherwise i'll sound really lame but thinking back to when i used to play GTA 1 is laughable now. Remember it was just a car in the middle of the screen with the background moving? LOL

Yeah, the video game. It'll be available on all major platforms on the first day as well, so Xbox peeps won't have to wait.

Saw the trailer on the website today (http://www.rockstargames.com/IV) and the kick-ass potential is pretty high. It looks like it's going to be set in the NY.

Nothing much can be gleemed from the trailer...although it has a lot of recognizable landmarks (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, Times Square, Statue Of Liberty), the city will still be called "Liberty City" if you go by the dilapidated ferry terminal that was shown. Besides cleaner graphics and interesting music in the trailer, though, nothing was shown about how the actual game will play...I'm still in a "wait & see" mood about how this new version will turn out.

Saw this yesterday. Looks like the game is going to be delayed till Aug. 2008 though.

Didn't this get pushed back because PS3 can't get their act together? I hope not. Can't wait for it to come out. I thought San Andreas was brilliant, if they can top that, they I will nut in my pants.

The game was scheduled to come out this october, but was pushed back till spring 08'

I read in the new Game Informer that GTA IV will have new gameplay features (which will give no indication on how the game itself will play) like the ability to actually hail cabs which will have an animated action from your character such as the raising of a hand and/or whistling.

Pedestrians will be more realistic and will actually look and move as if they have a purpose other than being obstacles to avoid hitting. Also they will light up cigs which you'll be able to hear as they flick at their lighter, and hold conversations, pick up newspapers from the stands etc..

Also the game will feature a real-time calander. Certain missions will be much more involved and will require you to complete certain tasks on certain days. One mission mentioned in the magazine preview detailed actually going to an internet café, applying "on-line" for a job at a law firm in order to get close enough to the intended target and perform a hit.

Also the Wanted Level system has been tweaked a bit to seem more real. Your Wanted Level is still the six stars but each star requires for you to clear a certain "search radius" on your compass map in order for the star to disappear. This replaces the running away at random until the star drops off or collecting a power up floating in an alley.

AmmuNation stores are also gone. Every weapon you get will require you to purchase it out of a trunk of a car and bigger and better weapons will only be available once you gain your suppliers' trust.

Also. No health meter. You'll be able to tell how hurt you are by appearance.

Oh and stealing cars will require you to break the window, slim jim the lock open and hotwire it to actually steal it. I don't know if this also applies to hijacking cars.

Oh. And after getting your health up via fucking a hooker. You have to go to the doctors for a penicillin shot.

I'm glad that they pushed it back, I am as excited as the next person, but, this just means more time to work out the kinks. We don't want them to rush this, as it will be there first shot on next-gen.
