Tattooist sued over penis prank

January 22 2007 at 12:01PM

An Argentinean football fan is suing a tattooist who drew a penis on his back instead of his favourite team's badge.

The teenager, who cannot be named, asked to have the Boca Juniors logo on his back.

But the tattoo artist was a supporter of rival team River Plate and decided to have some fun at his young customer's expense.

The victim told Terra Argentina: "I could not see what he was tattooing because he didn't have a mirror. I only saw it when I got home and showed it to my parents."

A police spokesperson said: "The tattooist supports Boca Junior's rival, River Plate, so he got annoyed when the teenager asked him to tattoo Boca's symbol and decided to tattoo a penis instead. Unbelievable!"

This made me lol, but also...damn. That's pretty harsh. It isn't like it was a temporary tattoo. However, I must say that getting a permanent addition to your body of a sports team logo, is dopey (unless you or your parents own the team, in which case I could see a vested interest). I still giggled, though - especially since the first people to see it were dude's parents. That must have been a wee bit awkward.
Hey Mom; Dad - check out my Boca tattoo! I just got it!

Ummm...son? What is Boca's logo? Does it look, er - veiny?

Thats fucked up.. By the way Kitty since you know a lot about tats. Whats the cost of removing a tattoo? How long does it take? More then one visit? Pain? etc. And no i'm not removing mine. I was just wondering.

Removing a tattoo costs a bit of money, it takes about as long as it would to get a normal tatoo and hurts alot more.

As for the number of visits it depends on how far into your dermis(sp) the color went and how big the tatoo is

That is FUQ'd up. Getting a tat removed doesn't tickle. The "artist" should pay for the removal, pay for the new tat on top of any other decree.

btw...tat of a sports team? I dunno..I don't get it.

What if the tattoo was like 7 inches long and fierce?

That I have little info in my brain about - I can tell you anything you need to know about getting them, but since I have no interest in removing them, I skipped that class.

I do know laser treatments are expensive, but if they are gang tattoos, places here in so-cal will do the removal for free. Best quick guesstimate is between 1-6k. Problem is, not all inks and colors remove the same - black is easiest. Some of the colors may as well be truly permanent, since even laser has a difficult time fragmenting the ink so the body can absorb it. Also, you will have to go for repeat treatments - they do NOT 'break up' in one session. And, it hurts. More than getting the tattoo did.

Best answer, is don't get anything because you want to shock your parents, or you think you are in "love" with someone. Then you won't have to worry about it.

EDIT: here's a good article on the subject from HowStuffWorks.com

Yeah it's insane. It's far beyond football anyway. It's upper-class (River Plate) vs. under-class (Boca Juniors).

Yea there no joke they take there soccer clubs seriously. My argentinian friend told me all about the rivalry between them. I think River Plate white jersey is bad ass

I suppose I shall never understand the kind of mindset that allows doing actual grave bodily harm to another person over so trivial a thing as them liking a different sports team/franchise. Talk about idiotic. I like sports, but have never gotten so caught up in any of it that "my" team(s) losing makes me have a bad day, or "my" team winning makes me riot and destroy things.

What they eat don't make me shit.

Yeah, when I was in Argentina it was explained to me that your favorite soccer team is part of your identity. You can't stop one from person from Buenos Aires who doesnt have a favorite soccer team and identifies himself by it.

hahaha damn that made me laugh out loud. laugh.gif

I read about this the other day and it still made me laugh reading it again today.

He should think himself lucky, a cock tattoo is much better than a Man U one, if someone had done that to him he'd have had to kill himself.

Like I've already said there's way more behind football than just the sports aspect.Football has always been a seismograph for social change/crisis in society, especially in south american countries where the social gap is so high.So it's more about what the respective teams stand for, like I've already said in my first post.
It may be idiotic but it's better that it expresses itself on a football field than in the streets.

Miguel Cotto, of all people is actually a fan of River Plate and wears their jersey to every fight he fights. Red is actually a good color for their jersey since el Rio de Plata, the river the team is named after is actually red from the polution. I asked a cab driver about it and he actually told me they dump paint in the river.
