Litzau just got ktfo at 2:52 of rd 8 after winning every rd but the first, in which he also got dropped. Looked like he was on the way to an easy UD, didn't listen to his corner and traded w/Jose Hernandez and caught a huge right hand.

Boom. Hernandez landed a great right hook and scored the upset. Definitely wasn't expecting that.

That punch put Gibbs on queer street. Little dance would have made judah proud. Looked like he was gonna get up tho, just watched the ref count him out.

That was a sweet overhand right. He looked pretty tentative up to that round, good for him...shoot, he was a part-time fighter going into this fight. Litzau looks good with his shots and movement but obviously needs to work on this defense...another fighter who was a little bit too in love with his power against tomato cans finally met a guy with a good beard and some power of his own. Litzau reminds me of Roberto Guerrero somewhat (flashier and not as grimy). Guerrero is the better fighter but similar builds and styles it seemed to me.

with HBO's budget, you'd think they'd be able to find a decent translator.
Torres is bad enough, but Olaya is annoying as fuck the way he will not let either max or miranda finish a damn sentence before he starts translating.

Hernandez vs. Litzau was a good scrap. I was glad to see Litzau get KTFO. Thats what he gets for not listening to his corner. I give Hernandez much credit because he was taking a beating and managed to hang in there until he landed that great overhand right.
One word about Miranda....WOW! My first time seeing him fight and he showed great power. Imagine if he landed that shot with full extension. I don't think Gibbs would of even gotten to one knee.
Lennox Lewis again did a horrible job in commentating. How the hell can you say that was premature stoppage in the Miranda fight. The ref was in Gibbs face the whole time he was counting. He counted to ten and then Gibbs decided to get up.
Overall I would have to say this was a good B.A.D. to end the year.

Miranda has the kind of one-punch power that can change a fight at the drop of a hat. Howard Eastman, who has a pretty solid beard, did all he could to stay in the fight with the Columbian, but that raw power and strength still got to him.
Litzau was bound to get caught sooner or later. He barely made it when he got dropped on ESPN - sooner or later, that flashy, hands down style is gonna spell trouble (Andre Ward, are you listening).
You could see Lamps taking it a bit easy on Lennox when he was stating that the stoppage may have been premature. He corrected him, but it still seemed like he was biting his lip not to tell Lennox to stf up...

Yep, props to Hernandez. He paid like hell for the opportunity to get that KO. That's the measure of ring courage.
As for the overhyped Litzau, it's make-or-break time. Either he learns to defend or this is as far as he goes.

Great year for Main Events:
Gatti gets crushed. Career over or close to it.
Vargas, same as Gatti
Julio gets upset and dominated. Loses major luster.
Brock gets KTFO by Wlad.
Jaurez loses two fights and then leaves the company anyway.
Litzau, their next big thing, gets KTFO on his first apperance on HBO.
Wow.. nice year. That company has to be in trouble going forward.

Damnit...I'm horrible at starting new threads. I didn't even see this BAD thread. Anyways...
Great win for Hernandez...I'm thinking comeback win of the year or what?
Yeah...you can call Litzau a dumbass or you can call him a warrior who just goes out and does what he does. Sure, he could have coasted, but with the pressure Hernandez was putting on, he'd have had to get on his bike to stay away and then everyone would be dissing him. They both fought their fight and Hernandez won.
What a heart on that guy!

Um...correct me if I'm wrong, but it's considered the correct way to translate...to translate what they're saying WHILE they're saying. It takes considerably more talent to do that than to wait until they're done before you start to translate. That also helps you be more accurate in your translation because you are literally translating sentence by sentence instead of paraphrasing (and in Torres' case, fucking it all up) at the end.
Oh god Lewis is horrible.

I have to agree Ike. Litzau could have coasted to victory, but instead, tried to give everyone a show. It ended up biting him in the ass, but I can't dump on a guy that tries to make exciting fights. Either way, his chin won't allow him to use a safety-second style with much success.
Didn't Miranda say he wanted to fight Taylor the first time Max asked him? Max must have missed it. After tonights performance that fight shouldn't be hard to make. And how bout Lennox, he and Gibbs must have went to the same elementary school.

Gibbs wasnt that good to begin with and I dont know why Lennox was hyping him up. His chin is suspect and he was KOed by the Haitian Creation who Jermain iced in 3 rounds.

Miranda is physically much stronger than Ouma. I'm not sure how succesful Taylor will be in tying him up. Plus, with Miranda's reach, he doesn't need to come inside himself.

Regardless of that I really want to see Miranda get anohter shot on HBO against a guy who matters. I think he'll stop Abraham and would give him a good shot against Taylor and Winky.

You seem to have some knowledge and opinions on the various promotional companies out there so I was wondering if you know much about Northeast promotions..a US co who lightweight Michael Katsidis has signed on with.

I missed the unofficial weighin thingy. I am kinda untrusting of those numbers though, some guys always seem way lower than they should be.
I would have liked to seen a little more of Miranda. He was wild and flaily against Abraham, and I don't see a guy like that beating Wright...although, I guess it's been proven that a guy like that can get a draw against Wright.

Well at least if he gets in the ring with Jermaine Taylor, he'll be fighting someone that's his own weight. I don't care what a guy weighs in unofficially, sure it's not good for them, but at least they're making weight or not fighting someone that campaigns at lower weights-- like Mr. Middlweight Champ.
