Floyd gets run out of the ring. You guys must want Floyd dead with the way he's been matched in MM lately. For that I commend you. I mean, he could hang with a lot of all-time greats around 130-135 (Arguello, Williams, Saddler, all good fights), but Jake LaMotta? Floyd couldn't hurt him with a baseball bat and he'd have to double his usual output to keep up. Jake wasn't a huge puncher but he'd have like 25lbs on the guy, and tons of physical strength. Part of me can see Floyd running circles around Jake, but I mean he'd seriously have to never stop moving.

LaMotta TKO 3/10.
Mayweather SD 1/10.

Same day weigh ins Floyd may have a better chance. Though LaMotta in his prime was able to get away with cutting alot of weight. Like Duran it just caught up to him by the early 50s.

Mayweather would have the same problem that Robinson had but with less firepower in his punches to try and get a bigger man off. He was more defensive minded than Ray Robinson but he doesnt throw nearly as much leather.

I could see Jake half punching, mauling Floyd out of the ring a few times. Not sure Jake LaMotta would respect anything that was coming from Mayweather.

Im sure Floyd could outbox him for stretches but then he would have to take alot of damage especially to the body. LaMotta was more skilled than his reputation. He had a nice short jab and threw crisp inside punches.

Tough to say. Right now I havent seen Floyd face a big welterweight. This is Jake LaMotta.

It might depend on what era the judges were from. I dont think Mayweather would win as many fights potshotting and fighting a safety first style. He certainly wouldnt have drew any $$$. Back in those days they scored bodypunching and gave alot of credit for aggressivness.

Id have to go with LaMotta probably by decision.

LaMotta by decision. Much bigger guy who never stopped throwing, he would give Floyd hell.

A fight at 15 rounds is a points win for Lamotta. I can possibly see Floyd winning a 12 rounder in a big ring (20+ feet) but even that is a tall order. What could he possibly use to keep Lamotta off him when Robinson could barely do it?

La Motta would have to actually make 160. Floyd could come in at 150. That's why it's at middleweight. 10 rounds... Mayweather has a good shot.

In a ten rtounder, Jake may just run out of rounds.

Floyd is a better fighter and a quicker, defensively sound boxer/counterpuncher who can move isn't exactly up the Bull's alley.

Sure, he has the style and durability to make the extra weight count, and he'd surely laugh at Mayweather's hardest punch, but he was no big time banger himself.

You guys are basing everything on the Robinson fights... fine. But the fact is Floyd is a better defender and was more careful in there than Ray ever was. One is mostly firece offense and the other is a defense-first guy with little killer instinct. Not a great comparison at all, really.

No, Lamotta could be inconsistent and im not sure who thought he was a big puncher. I just don't think I've seen Floyd in with a big tough guy like this, in fact I know I haven't. He ran away from Baldo, he better get some rocket powered shoes for Lamotta. Robinson's combination of offense and defense was surely superior to Floyd, not that I really want to get into the comparison, it is unnecessary.

Could Lamotta improve on what JLC did?

Lamotta may not have been a big puncher, but he would still the biggest puncher Floyd ever faced by a wide margin.

Everything Castillo does well - jab to get inside, work the body hard, cut off the ring - so does LaMotta, except he's 20 pounds bigger than JLC.

Floyd would probably bust one of his hands in the 3rd round on Jake's iron head, and run for the remaining 9.
