Realistically speaking? I know Jones has looked like a shell of his former self since about 04'. He has been ko'd twice and outclassed whenever he has stepped up since about 05'. Lately though it looks like has been scouting his opponents carefully. Green though looks less shopworn and then a Sheika or Lacy.

I think Roy is so shot that anything is possible. However, I've seen Green v Mundine fight and Mundine toyed with him. Green didn't have any answer to Mundine's speed. As shot as Roy is, he still possesses some good speed and Green seems to be vulnerable to super-speedy guys. Maybe it will be like Roy v Trinidad, but I am not sure.

Green is the bigger guy and I think an upset is on the cards here. He can punch, if nothing else.

This fight is in Oz land, no? If Roy can't knock Green out, what chance does he stand on the cards, assuming the fight isn't a total destruction?

Roy is too fast. It's hard to imagine that Green is appreciably better than Lacy

The entire fight comes down to whether or not Green can bullrush Roy and keep him on the ropes, pounding away. Like Glenn Johnson did. The problem is Green isn't very fast. He can punch, but he has slow hands AND feet. Even at this point, Roy has shown that he has just enough to beat that type of fighter, even if he's not impressive doing it and still looks kinda shot.
I probably wouldn't bet my money on Green.

Well, good news is we can all watch and find out, albeit tape-delayed. VS is airing the fight, sameday tape, the night of Hopkins/Ornelas.
Personally, I think it's awesome to see a card like that on basic cable.

Probably a better puncher, as far as being a hard "technically sound" puncher.
But I agree. I don't think Green is too far removed from the Lacy type or level. I actually see it going a lot like Roy/Lacy.
But I'm open to the suggestions that Green is still some chance.

Unfortunately I agree. I really don't want to see Roy fighting and if so, I want the geezers in Caesars kind of fight and then game over. Hop/Roy and quit. Not this.

I think the Lacy comparisons are crazy.. Lacy is a one armed fighter with seriously damaged confidence and a dented chin. Even up against a pre Calzone Lacy, Green is the better fighter IMO. Better technically and bigger. A much bigger threat than Lacy. With Roy's legs being non existent, it's just a numbers game for Green. If Roy posts up against the ropes, which I'm sure he will, he's gonna eventually get ate up. Green won't be as easily discouraged as Lacy was and will be bringing heat with both hands. Roy is going to bed again, wait and see.

You make a convincing case. I was using Lacy as a comparison because Green is slooooooooooooow. I would think Roy simply won't post up.
Though, it'd be a lot more fun if he did.

Danny Green will upset Roy,by telling him that he came out with an album too an outsold Roy Jones album! Then he will knock out Roy Jr in the 1st round.

Roy probably potshots to a UD.

Hope you're right Hooks...this is the kind of fight Roy needs to lose, or he's just gonna keep milking the ring for ever-diminishing returns at the cost of his health.

Initially I thought Green may have had a chance. I was thinking about the Glen Johnson fight, and how Green could do something similar if Jones isn't a moving target.
But the more I think about it the more I think Green can't handle the speed of Jones' punches. I think Jones can sit on the ropes and beat Green to the punch everytime.
Green is strong, but stiff and slow. His punches are predictable, which suits Jones perfectly. I think Jones can beat him without having to use his legs and I think Jones knows this and this is the reason he has chosen to fight Green in the first place.

Captain Hook is old so anything can happen.
But, I think Captain Hook is still to quick for Green and it will look like a sparring match. I just hope he doesn't get robbed because I feel one coming.

Not really, depends how you look at it. I've heard Green is getting an astronomical figure for this fight. It's his promotion.
He loses, he still wins.

It'll be the biggest payday of his career IMO. Bigger than the Mundine fight, because unlike Anthony, Roy is a proven fighter of the highest ability. If he lies on the ropes, I think Green can stop him. A lot depends on Roy's legs IMO and what they have left.

It's funny that even though I am predicting that Jones will win this, I am spending a lot of time telling people that this isn't the mismatch they think it is.
Seems lots of casual fans haven't seen a Jones Jr fight in the last 5 years.
I have casual fans telling me that Jones will win by KO 1.
Even my Dad who does try and follow boxing thinks this is a huge mismatch.
So I find myself convincing people that Danny Green can win this because Jones Jr is not the fighter they think he is, but then I tell them I think Jones will win. My credibility takes a hit everytime I try and explain this.
