Full Version: If Joe Calzaghe made it the Super Seven

The Super Six has me thinking of how he'd mix here. He had Kessler solved in their fight, and Kessler is a favorite in this tournament to more than a few Maxboarders.

I'd have loved to see it happen. I think Calzaghe left too much to my imagination w/ regard to his carreer, outside of earnings (but enough to make me think that he was a true great in any era).

One Caveat are his hands. It might take a decade for him to get to every fighter, so for fun's sake, lets say his hands do fine.

Froch and Arthur would have the best chance at him. If you mean Joe was involved now at his age, by the end he is pushing 40 so who knows? At his best he beats them all.

Physically and mentally durable guys. I agree. I'd also like to see how he'd do againts the counterpunching, reflexive style of Dirrell and Ward. I can't think of anyone in that mold that he did fight(Roy doesn't count).

i think he would goon Taylor and have close but clear decisions over AA and Froch.

Prime vs Prime i think Joe made it clear hes a step ahead of this bunch.

Right now, ehhh. He was fading down the stretch.

edit... i meant down the stretch as in the end of his career. Not late rounds.

Joe beats them easily, all by U/D. Against the good punchers, he would just keep them off balance and play it safe
