Full Version: George Foreman Versus Lennox Lewis

Okay, if, during the years these two were active (not in primes versus each other) should they have fought, who would have won? I tend to think both had stellar jabs. I also think Foreman's talk during HBO broadcasts that he would NOT ever fight or win against Lewis was a lie he told to try and bait Lewis to fight him. So I don't buy anything Foreman said. I think power and heart would have been the difference and I think with those two basis there is no way you could pick against Foreman in this match up. Just my opinion, curious what you all have to say. I say Foreman by KO round 10.

Lennox by easy decision, he would run his way to a win here.

Lennox by stoppage. His legs and size would enable him to wear George down and eventually tee off. There are limits to what a 45 year old man can do.

One fight out of 10 Foreman "Atomic Bulls" him though. Lennox had a decent chin, but it could be touched and dented. If Rahman could land the miracle punch then Foreman could do it at least once out of 10 fights.

Did you vote? still one versus one. I understand if you're just not sure, just curious if you voted?

Difficult to say. They coincided between '89 & '97. That's a pretty big margin for error. You need to be more specific.

Lewis, for mine, really didn't develope into his prime as a fighter until around the time Foreman retired. It was a greener Lewis when Foreman hit his straps during his comeback, around '89-'92. I do think Foreman had legitimate apprehension about fighting Lewis, though, & I'd be interested to see how that manifested itself in the ring.

I'll say Foreman before '94, but the ledger is beginning to tip thereafter. It really depends on the specific timeframe, as each man changed considerably during those eight years each were active.

I could agree with that.

Foreman said Lennox would've kicked his ass even in his own prime. Then again, he said a lot of stupid shit.

Either way, Lennox by easy decision against an old Foreman.

I agree with this. The earlier version of Lewis was focused on little but the right hand and often forgot about the jab. His footwork was also subpar. I think George would have found him enough to win in a fight similar to Mercer/Lewis (with the difference being that both guys get hurt) or would have gotten the stoppage.

Prime Lewis verses any version of Foreman during his comeback, in my view, is a very long night for Foreman.

Lewis by late stoppage. I think Lewis beats any version of Foreman more often than not.

We at maxboxing have a strict privacy rule regarding polls, this is deadly serious. By asking about the poll you could very well throw the whole legitimacy of the thing right out the window. You wouldnt want to do that.

I wish this fight had happened in 1992 or 1993.

I pick big George by a late knockout, after losing the first 1/2 of the fight.
