What a sick fight this one would be. Two of the best going at it, toe to toe, blow by blow. A mind-boggling fight. Who do you take?

Marvin 9-6ish, I'd give Robinson a better shot when he was younger giving up 10 or so pounds than I would in his Middleweight days. He was more flat footed in older age and that wouldn't serve him well against Marvin. But you obviously can never count Ray out of anything. Just think Marvin could hurt him easier than the other way around and was the better in fighter. His jab would probably surprise Robinson and throw off his timing a bit. Love to see it and I'm sure there would be a rematch.

Robinson, for mine, in a tight, bruising affair. I think he wins the decision, but Hagler runs him a merry chase.
Looking at the competition Robinson defeated at Middleweight, & the things he could do in that ring, it's difficult to go against him.

you have to look at who he lost to at middleweight also
Robinson wasn't at his best there

Hagler wins a clear bruising decision from the post retirement version of Robinson.
Sugar Ray pre-Maxim outboxes the Marvelous one. 10-5 or 9-6.

This is the sort of fight that has to go on at least 3 times because it would be so close. It's such a great contrast of styles, yet, the styles aren't all that different. It goes 15 rounds each time out. I think Robinson would win the first fight real close, followed by Hagler in the next two, with the last fight the most decisive. This would be boxing at it's most beautiful.

I think prime Robinson is the faster, longer man. I'd take him close. Neither guy would ever be hurt.
Hagler beats up the older version.

Paging Fat Mark, sim this bitch 3 times please, when you have a chance. Scripts would be OK, but your trademark writeups would be better.

Id also take the Pre Maxim version of Robinson over Hagler.

Which losses are you referring to? If you're talking of the defeats against Basilio, Fullmer, etc, those were class fighters, taken on very late in Robinson's career.

They were all time fighters, but Hagler was bigger, faster and more versatile than either of them.

...& Robinson had seen better days at Middleweight when he lost (& beat, let's not forget) those men.
I think the Robinson who fought those fights loses to Hagler, too. A younger, fresher Robinson? No.

Not much different than my initial post. though i would favor marvin over any version, a younger Ray with better legs has about a 50/50 shot. More like 90/10 Hagler when he was old and fighting exclusively as a Middleweight.

I might give that Robinson a chance at ending the fight on cuts. I can't see either man knocking the other out. These were two of the greatest chins in the history of the sport. (And of course two of the best fighters in the sport period).

Robinson 1951This version of Robinson I would give the best chance to beat Hagler. He still had faster feet and could move for 3 minutes a round if necessary. The older post retirement version could still fight well in spurts and showed flashes of his former greatness but Hagler would be able to use his strength against Old Ray.
