What if taylor had finished off pavlik in that second round and kept defending the middleweight title, undefeated? and along comes paul williams, trying to take the belt. who wins this?

That is a big 'if'. I'd still say Taylor would've lost to Williams. When someone with stamina, power and chin pressures Taylor, I think he just can't handle it(so far in his career anyway, and I don't see him improving dramatically at this point of his carrer).

The question is for Pwill does he have a great chin, and great power. He landed a ton on Winky and never hurt him and a ton on Verno and never really hurt him. As for his chin Winky or Verno have never been ones to have above average power.

You are right. I think PWill is still untested at !60. However, I belive he has good chin but that's just my guess. About his power, it may not be that great but I think it's capable.

Paul Williams would have beaten Jermain Taylor

As much as I hated Taylor for quite awhile, I also hold him in a much higher regard as a fighter than most. He's hell for eight rounds, and a super-athlete.
This would be a great fight for almost that long. Taylor would land some of those lead powerpunches that keep Williams from opening the floodgates entirely and probably win some rounds early. But the best way to beat Jermain is to make him fight a full three minutes of every round, and he'd wilt eventually. Williams by late stoppage, around 10.
