Excellent video, never knew they were talking about the two matching up.

Nas` style is all wrong for Gatti, Gatti he much better with a fighter staying in front of him.
The Sly Fox
Gatti, IMO, stops him in eight, but not without enduring his share of punishment.

This would make the Augie Sanchez fight look like a premature stoppage. Naz by horribly devastating knockout.

I hate to say it, but Naz was way too fast for Gatti. He'd be eating bombs all night until he couldn't take it anymore. Not only that, but Naz's awkwardness would be hell for Arturo. Naz by 6th round stoppage.

I`ll never forget that. Augie came to fight.

at what weight would this take place at.......
The Sly Fox
Presumably, Lightweight. Either that, or a catchweight. Can't believe I am the only man in the Gatti boat for this one.

Why lightweight? Naz wasn't a big feather and Gatti fought at 130 for quite awhile. If the fight had been made it would have been at 130, much less here in MM. Gatti would be fighting a guy who dwarfed him in handspeed, an especially dangerous proposition for a guy with no defense to speak of. And Naz had some of the best one-punch power featherweight ever saw. Not to mention we're talking about a prime Hamed, who was much better than the undisciplined headhunter post-Kelley. That Hamed added to the power of his shots by coming at bizarre angles that no one saw coming and was very good at getting in and out of range.

Tough to see any way Gatti wins this.

With Naz always stepping out with his hands down, sticking his chin out, leaving that shit hanging around, etc., there'd always be a chance for Gatti to land a bomb. And Hamed could be hurt. He recovered quick as hell, but he could be hurt.

Still, it probably doesn't go long enough for it to get to that point. The differences in handspeed, head movement, foot speed, punching technique, ring smarts, etc., are vast.

yeah thats what im thinkin if augie sanchez could land some hooks on the prince...im think gatti wouldve been to also...i think gatti would be bigger...and he did have decent hand speed....i give gatti a decent shot but if the prince lands, which he would, it wouldnt be too good for gatti...

Fair point about the weights. It slipped my mind Gatti had fought below 130.

Nice video.

They'd have had to scrape Gatti off the canvas with a putty knife.
