I'm going to have to go with Duran, easy. Pavlik either presses the fight and gets skull fucked with counters or he lays back and gets out boxed.

Middle? Duran was a dud there except for five rounds against Hagler and he seemed bored. He was a miserable middle. Pavlik is an odd fight UD.

Duran wins this one. He performed a lot better against Hagler than Pavlik would. He fought pretty well years later against Barkley and won. Hell, even many years after that he was able to beat Castro at 68lbs. No reason to believe if he was in shape he wouldn't beat mr average.

I honestly can't see how Pavlik is going to land a punch. Way to basic to catch Duran with those 1-2"s. Block jab, slip right, counter, rinse and repeat.

Kelly is out of his class here. He's tough enough to catch an extended beating and lose big on the cards.

I think Pavlik-Barkley is more winnable for him. He's got the chin and workrate to beat Iran.

Anyone better than average was usually good enough to beat Barkley.

Is Pavlik's punch going to cripple Duran's chances?

Any version of Duran pre 40 years of age would be able to confuse Pavlik and rip him with counterpunches. Even if he is outsized coming to Duran and trying to knock him out is not a good gameplan. Unless your Hearns who was a freak.

Id say Duran stops him late after buzzing him repeatedly.

Duran would be in Pavlik's chest. Then it's school.

Kelly Pavlik isn't the fighter many think he is, or want him to be. Against good fighters, he has very few weapons. There's no variety and everything comes at one speed.

Agree with the general consensus. He would land some ugly punches on Kelly and lose the bored look real fast when he smelled blood.

Duran decisions him easily and bloodies him up some along the way.
