So amazingly it turns out that when my son gets in a proper state one of the few things that calms him down is watching boxing. He was awake from 3:30 this morning. We watched a few fights. One was Stracey-Napoles which was old Napoles but it did make me think about a Tito match.

The Napoles from the Stracey match would, I fancy, have a world of trouble with Tito. A younger version though and I'd favour Napoles. Either way, it's not going half way and it's a lot of fun...

Napoles, wide but competitive. You must be slick and smooth as hell if your nickname is "Mantequilla", and slick and smooth always gives Trinidad problems.

The fight would go like this.

First round they come out and feel each other out some. Trinidad would soon realize he is in with somebody better than he ever could imagine. A figher superior in almost every department. By the second or third round he decides he should run.

But he is not a runner so he wouldnt know how to run. Therefore Napoles would catch him with something and buzz him. Not put him down but buzz him enough to bring out the fight in Trinidad. Then Tito would stand and fight and get knocked out.

Napoles KO 3.

JUST finished the Napoles-Stracey bout...

I've got quite a bit to say on this match-up.

First off, I want to point out that Napoles' left eye was swollen shut for most of the bout.

Second, I felt the stoppage was premature. Stracey hurt him a little before the stoppage and Jose didn't really care. Then on the other side of the ring, they battle and eventually John lands with a handful of straight shots. Napoles just walks back to his corner. Not his night or something.

Third, the match-up has to do with THAT Naploes, not a peak version.

Fourth, I could see Tito having success with his hard jab early. Napoles was in range for that shot.

Fifth, and I feel most important, I have no doubt (I'm talking absolute ZERO) that Napoles would land his quick right hand. I promise you that he would not miss that punch on Tito. Just no way. Too quick, and just the way he threw it was made for Trinidad. He'd eat that shot closer to 100% of the time than 50%.

Sixth, I don't see Tito standing up to the rights than Stracey took. He'd eat them on the button and WOULD see the canvas. I'm certain of that.

This doesn't reflect my opinion of Trinidad as a fighter, but boxing is about the styles and the timing of the match-up mostly, and therefore I have no choice but to agree with Naploes by quick knock out.

That right hand, and the upper body movement would be the keys. I'm sure of it.
