Mets fan here, but I'm in Cali.
Thank god the Mets have a bullpen this year. I can't take another September implosion.
P.S. Manny Ramirez is a tool. I hope he dies by bee stings.
Edit: Santana may not be ready for the start of the season because of his elbow. My team is already off to a bad start.

OMG Dont remind me. Is actually a strain of the tricepts tendon. They are saying it just needs a week or 2 of rest but Im already scared. If Santana goes down might as well look forward to football season. At least its a long spring this year.
Hellz yeah on the bullpen. K-Rod and JJ are gonna be nasty to close the game.
Wilpons are tools Manny is sitting there crying to fall in there lap for 2 years. Bastards wont take it.

I want to see Manny back in LA but the Dodgers gave him a very good offer in this economy. 2 years at almost $23 million a year. His friggin agent told him he could get him 4 years at 100 mill.

Thats their problem.
At this point its up to somebody else to make an offer even close to the Dodgers before they up the ante.

Manny is a great hitter but he was on his best behavior last year for 60 games because it was a contract year. I dont think he is a bad guy but he can go to sleep on you.
Apparently he is going to have an Out clause in this contract with LA if it gets signed. After one year. Im OK with that.. To me thats better than being stuck with him for 4 seasons if he starts to slow down or make trouble.
I was gonna laugh if LA raised the $. Nobody else was close to them and that wouldve been dumb as hell.

A-Rod out either 10 week or 4 months. Worst time for this to happen with the Yankees. With Manny off the market, the Yankees can't find anyone to replace that production. Their offense is going to struggle taking his production out of the line-up. Why couldn't this have happened a week earlier??

The AL central is going to be a wild one this year. Every team minus the Royals (who are improved) have a legitimate chance to win the division. The White Sox problem last year was that it was 3 run home run or bust. Their going to have to learn to play some small ball when needed if their going to re-peat as division champs though. With that said, Ozzie seems to get the most out of the talent he has so I'm curious to see what he gets out of this bunch this year!

WAR Dodgers!!! Manny for a full year means we most likely win the West fairly easily. Now, if our pitching is able to pitch to left-handers efficiently, we can win the pennant. I'm seriously excited. Furcal, Hudson, and Manny batting 1-2-3 is pure awesome.

The Padres always give the Dodgers trouble. Its doestn matter what their records are. LA could have 110 wins and SD 67 wins but they`ll take 2 out of 3 in a crucial series just to ruin my summer.

I've always thought that the Padres chances of victory over the Dodgers are inversely proportional to how good they are- the shittier the Padre lineup, the better the chance they'll take a series off the Dodgers.

yeah its too bad they are looking to retooling this year because that was a fun squad who made it to the WS
and I don't see the hype for my beloved Dodgers
on Offense yeah we have a lot of talent but other than Manny no real honesto to goodness pop unless Kemp becomes a beast

We're gonna need some of the kids to really step up and produce in order to make some substantial waves. Last season was a good start, but now it's time to continue that momentum. It's funny too, that the core guys had fairly solid years in terms of batting...if they were batting 6-8. The problem is that they're batting in the run-producing spots and only getting close to 20 HRs, 60 RBIs, and batting between .280 and .300. If anyone other than Manny can approach 30 HRs on the season, I'll be pleased. Preferably two. I'm cool with the top of the lineup though, Furcal and Hudson are two of the best up there.
Again though, this is the year for Martin, Kemp, Ethier, Loney, Billingsley, Kershaw, and Broxton to solidify themselves as reliable contributors and not just promising youngsters.

This should be the year those guys come of age. Kemp is a five tool player who I think can hit 20-25 HRs a year. Loney is my favorite young hitter on the team. He is more of a doubles hitter but he can hit .300. Either is kind a the same thing but he has slightly more power. Russell Martin just needs to keep playing the way he is. He is already an allstar catcher. Picking up Orlando Hudson was nice. He hit .300 as well.
The pitching is the question mark IMO. Billingsly. Kershaw and Kuroda have to should ther burden. There is a kid though Im excited about James McDonald. He might get the 5th spot in the rotation. Kid has a live arm. He might end up the best pitcher on the squad in a couple of years. There was talk of picking up Pedro Martinez for that long relief or 5th spot as well.
If those young hitters cant flourish with a fulll season hitting around Manny then I dont think there is any hope for them. Manny isnt just a talented guy he is a student of hitting. Those guys can learn alot by talking to him and watching how he approaches the pitcher.

Nice ceromony for Harry Kalas today in Philadelphia. He was the voice of the city.
Oh yeah...Dustin Pedroia is a douchebag.
He is from a small trucking/farm town just North of Sacramento. He said in a Boston magazine that his hometown was a dump and that it "stinks" and that nobody would ever want to stay in that Hell hole.
His parents own their own tire shop up there and the entire town worshipped him. They were going to name a street after him. They got a Death Threat from some lunatic who was actually going to shoot them because of what Pedrioia said.
He used the old I was just kidding line after he realized his people back in Woodland knew about it. Classy.
