Ben, that's one solidly balanced team. They have speed on defense and a really good offense and they don't lose focus. Depending on the final game, I don't think anybody else in the country is a better team.

As I said a few months ago, SC will once again finish as the best team in the country with shit to show for it. I don't think anyone beats them

Winner of Florida/Oklahoma but either team can move up.

He definitely had the Ed Reed of WR's. But Joe would have been capable on other teams. Just no where near as succesful.
If Colt gets drafted by the Bengals he is fucked. But a team that runs a west coast type of offense he can definitely get the job done. He would be a good fit in Tampa.

If Palmer recovers, he sits. Seattle with the new coach OR Dallas (since they have no QB) would be nice. Tampa is not a bad choice too.

Ed Reed is dat dude....He has that sixth sense to get into the endzone everytime he gets the ball in his hands. Montana was successful in KC also but he was already past his prime. If he were to get drafted by the bengals, I don't think he would play right away, carson still has some years left in him.

Check the 49ers before Joe. They were the ass of football. I know they drafted some talent but Montana was a winner and you can't teach that. "The Catch" was not made by the GOAT and that made SF into THAT team. Joe was the lead and if Ferragamo was that QB or anybody else, they'd lose by 24.

I am really surprised Moreno is rated so high by the "experts". I am not sold on his size. If Moreno is the second back taken there is a huge gap between Beanie Wells and Moreno IMO.

Jan 7 2009, 06:28 AM
Moreno runs so hard that I think it will trump his size (or lack thereof). Plus, he has shown he can block and catch. I would be VERY wary of Stafford's NFL prospects. I haven't seen his decision-making improve in his 2 1/2 years as a starter.

Stafford is a poor man's Jake Cutler he has potential and all but no way would I take him over Sanchez or Bradford. With that said watch the Lions pick him.

I don't like Stafford either, he can throw a beautiful ball, he may turn out but I don't like his decision making either.
I'm not sure about Beanie or Moreno in the pros either, Beanie's bigger but I don't think he runs as hard, plus he's a bit injury prone. Moreno probably won't run very well at the combine.

Beanie Wells runs his ass off but I agree about the injuries. At his best, he reminds me of Keith Byars before he broke his foot.
Gilyard and Crabtree were the best WRs I saw this year. I think Crabtree declared, and will go top 15.
Salvy_Mic
Jan 7 2009, 07:52 AM
I dunno, I remember many people talking about injuries possibly holding back Adrian Peterson, and look what happened. Granted, Purple Jesus is a once-in-a-lifetime type talent, but I wouldn't count out Beanie Wells in the NFL. Him and Moreno are the two best backs in the draft.
Unless Bradford comes out, QB looks pretty thin this year. Stafford's got talent, but I've never been overly impressed with him the way I've been impressed with Bradford and McCoy (and McCoy's said he's staying another year). He shouldn't be #1 overall, unless the Lions trade their #1 for about 2 or 3 extra picks (which would be a wise move). Otherwise, the Lions should use that #1 and draft Andre Smith to be the anchor of their O-line.
