Its funny, i was at the fight, but was so drunk and happy i couldnt tell who was winning each round... i just saw
the hbo telecast, horrible! come on! margarito did way better. And you know what!? The problem, the bias comes from Lamps, everybody else seems to be very unbiased, Stewart said some very accurate comments
in the first couple of rounds about the punishment margarito was starting to put on cotto, en max did a great
job in his analysis. Lamps seems to have stock on cotto or something, or maybe on hbo house fighters..

but hey, if you want to hear bias! or excitement towards a fighter... go to this webpage and click on the video that says margarito, is at the right side box..

This link is fantastic. The announcers almost lost their voices screaming for Margarito and screaming instructions at him. Kind of reminds me of the guy who did the french color on the Mormeck-Bell fight that was live on ESPN classic last year.

That's Julio Cesar Chavez's voice in there as well, he was screaming from the top of his lungs during the whole fight, we saw the fight live on PPV and then watched the delayed azteca telecast just to hear the mexican comentary, it was night and day, the azteca version of harold ledderman actually only gave cotto 2 rounds if I remember correctly.

That has to be surreal for Margarito, to have the man he idolized cheer for him, as he once did

My Spanish is about as poor as Maragarito's chin is solid, buit it sounded like the announcers were comparing Margarito's victory to some of the all-time great victories by Mexican fighter's over international competition. I'd put it just above Barrera's win over Hamed and just below Salvador Sanchez's win over Gomez.

Edit: The more I think about this, the more over the top the comparison is. There are many grt wins for Mexican fighters over international comp. Chavez-Taylor, Morales-Pacqiaou I, JCC Jr-Vanda, etc.

I thought Manny Steward saved them on Saturday. Lamps was acting like Cotto was the only guy in the ring for much of the night

Funny you should say that, the people from Azteca interviewed Margarito outside the dressing room I believe and Chavez was on his side with and incredible high and very proud of Margarito who he refered to as a son, rather emotional interview for them both.

That's great, that really is for him. I love that photo of him and his brother Manuel as kids on Chavez's lap.

Here's the link to that interview. It's also the only video I can find after the fight where Margarito is not wearing sunglassess and you can see how marked up he was.

Buddy, thanks, that's great stuff- and I dont even understand Spanish. Chavez is downright giddy

When I went to talk to Tony and he took off his glasses for a few seconds, I was like, 'Geez, you really walked through an inferno' I have never, ever seen him that marked up and swelled up

Its somewhat arresting to see someone as legendary as Chavez, as you said, giddy. Its great to see him apparently sober, too. And by the way you mentioned to me in the elevator bank at MGM right after you did the interview with Margarito upstairs how marked up he was and I'd been looking for video. Just so happens this one really shows it well.

F'ing Nick Anderson.

What really would make Chavez proud and very happy, if Marg landed the DLH fight and gave DLH an assraping.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I bet that a t.v. broadcast of Pac-Man is the same. Cotto did put up a good fight, but listening to the broadcast you would have thought that Cotto dominated the fight right up until he took a knee.
