http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/04/news/compa...sion=2008030413I use it too...often. We have been bamboozled, hood winked, led astray!
At least we can get some compensation.

El oh el. I like your link.
You know what Airborne is good for? Freaking people out by putting one in your mouth instead of in water. You will foam up like a washing machine, plus it doesn't taste nearly as gross as alka seltzer.

I always thought it was bullshit. My coworker swears by that stuff. I actually have a cold right now so I was just waiting on her to say "get some airborne" but now, I just forwarded her the link and said "you might have some money coming back to you

" lol

I don't see what they got sued for.
It's a vitamin. Anyone could have read the ingredients. People will do anything for a buck. Wouldn't they have read the label before ingesting it?
They shouldn't have settled, but the bad publicity would have hurt them worse. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'm sending this link to a friend I've mercilessly mocked for buying into that nonsense.

I'd bet it had a placebo effect on some users, so I'm not suprised some people said it worked.

HA HA! My mother is always pimping Airborne and I've tried to explain to her numerous times that a proper diet and quality multi-vitamin is better for preventing colds than a fizzy/sugary vitamin C drink.

Good. Shit is garbage. My mom said it was good and gave me some packets. So I tried it 2 or 3 times when I was coming down with something and it never did a damn thing.

It'd be hilarious if Viagra was a placebo.

I thought I linked it right, but then again I'm at work and these comps are not the same. I can't even stay logged on too long under my screen name. Before I get booted off, and I dare not explore the reason behind it.

I bought some of that stuff and still have it unused in my suitcase. I guess I'll be tossing it out now.
I never really came down with colds when I travelled anyway, I did get so mean headaches from the altitudes in Bogota and Quito...some coca tea fixed that right up though. Now placebo effect there

Don't toss it!! Seriously - that shit makes the greatest 'rabies' special effects. Break one in half, put half in your mouth, and see what happens.

that zinc stuff works tho - IF you take it AS SOON AS you feel a cold coming on, and you have to pop the things in one after another.
tastes like shit, but that shit works.

The reason they got sued and lost, was because the "clinical trials" that proved that it worked were faked. They never happened.
GNG is actually a two-man operation started up just to do the Airborne study. There was no clinic, no scientists and no doctors. The man who ran things said he had lots of clinical trial experience. He added that he had a degree from Indiana University, but the school says he never graduated.
The bottom line, is that you can't claim scientific studies "proving" your item works, and not actually have performed them.

Anything who thought it was anything more than some vitamins is retarded. The ingredients are on the back. I always take it when i'm sick because it gives me a lot of water to drink, tastes good, and gets vitamins in me not because it's a cure for the cold.
