Interesting article and responses after. I think Forbes should be in the mix with all the top guys at 140. Seems like he is in a tough spot with these contender people. Any other thoughts on this?

I agree with you Plax but you should be getting ready for Dallas. I think he'd beat the shit out of Paulie and I think he could give Hatton a very good fight. As a matter of fact I'd love to see Forbes vs Hatton.

Watching the crap on show box this past Saturday, makes me want to never watch boxing , let alone watch Paulie,, the self proclaimed to good looking a guy for boxing, fight Ricky Hatton. Forbes would be a much better fight for Hatton. Paulie should stick to making sure his head bands are color coordinated . Peace Out.

I’ve been a big fan of Steve Forbes for a long time. Not only is he a class guy out of the ring but in the ring he is willing to not only fight anyone at any time, but unlike other world champs he wants the phone booth brawl for his fans and the sport of boxing. I think anybody that you put in the ring with “2 Pounds” will be interesting. With that said it takes 2 to tango. Just like Morales and Barrera needed each other. Steve needs a guy that has skills to trade blows with him for 48 minutes straight. I don’t know if there are to many fighters pound for pound that can.

I also enjoy watching Forbes fight, and would love to c Steve battle it out vs. Hatten. Two Pounds always shows up to fight (along w/Hatten) which would def. make for an extremely high action-packed fight. Hopefully Steve gets the chance he deserves, but many fighters, managers, promoters or whoever you will are afraid due to Steve's competitiveness and level of skill! One things for sure, is that Hatten vs Forbes would be a battle!! Lets c it happen!!

Forbes is like 89 years past his prime. He doesn't hit hard, one of his eyes is crossed, and his speed has left him. Yeah, sounds like he'll get a title shot.

And yet he's managed to beat Panchito Bojado and should have gotten the W over Hopkins. More than anything Malignaggi did to earn his shot.

Hatton versus Forbes would be fun but seriously....Ricky should fight Junior Witter. The time has come and Witter's awesome KO of Vivian Harris has to make him the #1 contender plus he's a hometown rival of all things. As long as Ricky doesn't fight Witter, his title at 140 starts becoming questionable in my book. Witter can certainly land hooks and time Ricky on his way in just like Mayweather did, and Junior may even have more power at 140 than Mayweather at 147. Not that I think Junior is better than Floyd or anything. I just think he can implement the game plan we saw that resulted in Hatton KTFO'd.

Looking at this thread, you guys make me think he has a shot in May. If you think he can hang with Hatton, Paulie, two young active fighters, and that he proved himself against D-Hop, Bojado, and the Kasim-killer Bundrage, why not an aging semi-retired pug who's susceptible to slick boxers moving up?

We just need DH to bet huge on Oscar and it is a lock for Forbes to win.

If it "just isn't the night" for the jab again, Oscar could be in a lot of trouble. If 2 pounds can get into punching range easily, he still has the speed to beat Oscar, and it has been awhile since the Golden Boy really ciuught anybody not name Mayorga.

Just wait for the "I bet 1000 dollars to win 10" thread and then you know it.........

I thought Brewer won the fight, but only because of his size, and he did a fair bit of holding in close. I'd imagine just about anyone at 140 would have had a real tough time with Brewer.
