That is a GREAT point. Hatton got hit by something sharp just the same way earlier in the fight. I remember the punch you're talking about and the same thing occurred to me when I watched the fight a second time. At least it registered somewhere in my head. I watched the fight at a British Pub, there was this old nasty ugly ass lady smoking cigs heavily and before the fight she kept on yapping on how Hatton was gonna win by KO. I actually like Hatton, but having to listen to that bitch made a KO feel so sweeeeet. Bitch took her shit and left

It was almost a de la Hoya fight-type crowd at the pub I watched the fight at. Most people knew sweet FA about boxing, except this time most had English accents.

I think I was the only person laughing when Hatton was KO'd. That was a funny knockdown and a funny KO too.

Oh i wasnt saying there was anything wrong with it, not even close. I was simply saying they should give him a break when they were talking about him getting caught by the hurt by the same punch twice. I was countering that saying that he had to reach and come in, otherwise there was no way he could bring the fight to Floyd. I take nothing from Hatton for this loss. He fought his ass off, Floyd was faster, stronger, and bigger. Ricky took his beating well.

i don't know... what you see as safety first, i see as old, slow and exhausted. if anything, i thought floyd fought safety first - the way oscar was fighting after round 7, floyd could have (and should have) punished him a lot worse.

I just want to say I concur. It was Hatton's fight to win. The only thing that kept him from it was getting hit with so many clean shots while missing so many of his own punches.
