The Boston City Police came in and did "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes and Pierce said a few words.
Sadly, the C's are like 0 for their first 7. They look very tight. Almost like they're pushing too much for red.

You're right Narrator.... That dude is big too.... I wonder if he'll be the black Shawn Bradley???????

I'm gaurdedly optimistic about the team.
Pierce is Pierce. Dude is a great player, one of the best scorers in the league and I think he's going to have another great year.
I really like Rondo more than Telfair. I think he's going to be great. Part of me thinks Telfair is too much scorer and not enough distributer.
Perkins and Jefferson could be ok. I think Big Al needs to develop more of a mean streak.
Gomes is a solid guy too.
So, no, they're not as bad as I said but they ain't playin well tonight.

I'm not sold on that kid from Ohio State yet--Greg Oden. A lot of hoops analysts love him, saying he's the next Bill Russell (?!). I seen him play in the McDonalds game and he didn't impress me at all. Kinda slow, and not really a force inside. I'm gonna have to take a closer look at him against better comp. Tim Duncan didn't look like an All-NBA 1st teamer in college either.

dog i said that on the old boards.. he had better be glad stern isn't allowing kids in the league anymore cuz this kid is azz.. he's 7'2" in high school and isn't even dominating... he looks like he's mentally slow(not trynna be funny or diss him btw) and he's slow as molasses in the winter on the court... he has some nice teammates at OSU so they are gonna make some noise, but that dude is seriously overhyped in my opinion...

From Wikipedia.com
Tim Duncan was a two-time ACC Player of the Year with the Wake Forest University Demon Deacons.
Duncan was an All-American at Wake Forest, where he finished with honors in psychology. Duncan won the 1997 John Wooden Award as the NCAA's best overall male player based on the votes of sportscasters and newswriters. In that season, Duncan averaged 20.8 points per game and 14.7 rebounds per game. Duncan finished his college career as the leading shot blocker in NCAA history, and he is one of only 10 players with more than 2,000 career points and 1,500 career rebounds. He was also the first player in NCAA history to reach 1,500 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 blocked shots and 200 assists.

I dunno man. I know it may not matter too much but he just doesn't seem like a good character guy. He's gonna do something stupid off the court every year and I wouldn't want any young guys on my team near him.
I'm not denying he produces on the court but IMO you have to look at the full package.
Also, Pierce is fucking awesome. He is willing the Celtics back in this game. 85-82 with 3:45 left.
Pierce is at 18 boards right now.

But for real it was because Wake had an inferior team with Duncan as the staple. 1 guy can get you far in college (see: Bird, Duncan, etc...) but they can't bring you all the way.

Yeah, yeah. I knew he'd be good. Didn't know he'd be perennial All-NBA 1st Team. The fucker looked kinda soft to me in college. Turns out his fundamentals won out. Excuse the fuck out of me. Not every college superstar ends up a career all-star.

i know isiah is a turd but something tells me the knicks will actually surprise a lot of people this year falling just short of the playoffs. theyve got pretty good players and theyre out to prove that larry brown was the problem last year and not the players.
lakers are decent w/out kobe, odom can do his thing and they play better as a team. if kobes knee is worse than advertised, he might be forced to play a team game which can only help the lakers.
watch out for the raptors by mid-season, they're the phoenix suns of the east.
