Best:

George Carlin - Loved by almost everyone. RIP.

Mitch Hedberg - I can't believe that there's some people that don't like this guy's one liners. RIP.

Brian Regan - Best facial expressions of all time.

Worst:

Dan Cook - Fag.

Carlos Mencia - The only times he ever made me laugh (if that ever happened) he probably stole the jokes.

Jeff Dunham - How could anyone laugh at this guy's "comedy"?

Chapelle is a genius and probably also the funniest working comedian.

Brian Regan is a library of material, probably has more than anyone alive and consistently makes me laugh the most.

Gaffigan gets tiresome, but weirdly put on the best show I've ever seen live.

I've been warming up to Demetri Martin lately.

Carlin barely seems like a comedian, more like a social commentator who tries to keep his comments on the funny side.  He wants you to agree with him first, laugh second.  Like Dane Cook wants you to like him first, laugh second.

Middle of the road by today's standards, but how many could incorporate a banjo into his act and still be considered a giant of his time?  Steve Martin deserves a mention.

Pryor and Carlin were the best.

Also, if Eddie were to ever return to HBO for a special, it would an event.

Andy Kaufman's stuff may not have aged too well, but he was surreal and awesome

Bad:
George Lopez is an unfunny motherfucker with racist material
Gallagher is horrible
I don't dig female comics in general, and Lisa Lampanelli is below garbage

Worst:

Bill Cosby and Seinfeld.  Neither is funny.  Cosby is crap, not sure how the fuck he became so damn famous with that shit.

Roseanne Barr.  I don't think there is much else to say.

Fat Chinese chick named Cho or something like that.  Garbage.

Dane Cook doesn't belong because I don't think he even registers on the laugh scale to qualify.

Larry the Cable Guy.  Whatever.

Mencia.

Best:

Old school Eddie Murphy.

Notes:

BTW, I was in Vegas at conference and colleague had a client that wanted to see CarrotTop at the Luxor.  He had an extra ticket and I went.  I have to say that it was funny as hell.

Don Rickles is a funny old racist dude.

I am not a huge Lopez fan, but what is racist about his material that makes it any different than Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Don Rickles, Chappelle, etc...?

He came to my college, freshman year 1991.  I don't think I ever went to a college sponsored guest event again.

But he did have one memorable gag about ordering a pizza and then dressing up in Dominoes Pizza outfit with a box in his hand to answer the door.
