Just put a 383 stroker in the Buick last week

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2433055

I came very close to dumping a 383 in my Vette {1980}. I didnt do it because that year still has to have smog testing. At the time I didnt realize that they would have never known. So I just had it rebuilt the way it was.

I should have done it though. They are nice street engines. Alot of torque and usable power.

You do know that the 370 roadster doesn't come out til next year?  Only the coupe is out now, the current convertible offering is still the 350

I predict they will make a t-top before the run is over, a la the 300zx.  and it will be pretty.

It's the same situation as the Camaro. I know both won't have theirs til 10. That's fine. I have both the Buick and the truck running good so...

Good to here Faq. I'm not in a rush so we'll see which dealer makes the best deal.

I actually just edited my original post.  I was wrong.  The new Z roadster comes out this summer as a 2010 model.

The Camaro just has an ass-long waiting list (from what I've seen anyway).  It was one of my final choices.

Sales of the 370 up here seem slow.  I've only seen one other beside mine.  I imagine you'll have no problem getting a roadster when they launch.

I get the 11th one in Denver, should I decide to.  I'm still up in the air on it.

It seems like a great value on paper.  The styling seems like a hit.  I'd say it's definitely worth a test drive and up close look.

Did you put down a deposit?  How much? Did you get to choose your specs/options?

SS coupe, fully loaded.  Every option available.  Comes out of the factory at 445 horse, I believe.  No deposit.  My current camaro would be my down.  I'm just not sure if I can part with it.  Its the 35th Anniversary SS convertible.

Pontiac gone.

They were always fun cars. My uncle still owns a `79 Trans Am without the screaming chicken on it. The GTO started the whole muscle car craze. They were nowhere near as fast as their reputation though. Good looking cars though for the most part.

This may be what the C7 is gonna look like. Corvette design put alot of time and $ to make this concept for the Tranformer movie.

Nice whip, e.  I like the VW CC, the sporty sedan on the Passat platform.  My buddy just bought a GTI and it's pretty fun to drive.  Also 50 times more well built than the 90s golfs.

That car should run well for about 10+ years. Just change the oil and get in and go.

I'll confess, ever since I saw Edward Scissorhands I've wanted a van like the one in that movie.  Black van with fire on both sides.  The party wagon.

Oh, and "that look" girls give you when you pull up for a date in a van roughly translates to "You must be kidding me."

So what the verdict on the new Camaro? Like? dont like?

Has over 425hp. Not sure what nitch its going to target though. Cost more than a Mustang but probably nicer and more powerful. I think it`ll sell well for the first year or so then run out of steam.

I'm going over a girls house tonight to take her and her son out for dinner. We shall see if she likes vans or not.

Cost more than what version of a Mustang? There are a shitload of them. Shelby (more horses) is one that comes to mind. 425 is nice but how did they set up the engine? Like the Vette or the GTO where it had the same engine but a slower 0-60 time.

BTW, I don't feel the car. Still, I need to see a vert to make a judgment.

Once upon a time, my dad had sweet 2004 Crown Vic sport- Had the shifter in the floor and no chrome unlike normal Crown Vics.  Few more horses, too (about 280 to the crank stock).  My dad had the resonators removed and different mufflers (don't recall what they were called, I think Ravins)- car sounded incredible.  Had a spoiler on it that we think came from a Ford Probe of all things  (found it at a Ford dealership, it just happened to fit the Vic).  Had Mercury Marauder front signals and Maurader front bumper.  In fact, it got mistaken for a Maurader a lot.  My dad owns a Marauder as well, so we joked that the Vic was the evil twin.  It had the "Powered by Ford" badges that come on cobras for a different touch.  I loved driving it.

The reason I'm referring to it in past tense is because:

IPB Image

My dad rear ended a Ford Explorer.  Total loss.

My dad thought about getting a new one, but since he's already got a Maurader, he figured he'd get something else to add to the fleet.  So he got a 2005 Town Car.  It's sharp, but it'll never replace that Vic.

R.I.P. Crown Vic!

Yeah I was thinking of the standard Mustang GT. The Shelby cost more has alot more power but is also heavy as hell.

Im not sure on the Camaro engine but I think it is naturally aspirated with a Vette Engine {LS3} but in a much heavier package. Maybe a slightly detuned exhaust compared to the Corvette. They cant make it more powerful than their Flagship Car.

I think the recent GTO failed because they made the car look so plain. No style at all.
