Kovalev would probably be ready to fight again soon since the Clev fight was short and void of punishment. However, most op the top guys seem to be busy. Hopkins vs. Murat, Stevenson vs. Cloud (and the winner fights Bellew end of November), Pascal vs. Bute.

A Cleverly rematch isnt on the cards and Chilemba is coming of a draw and a loss to Bellew. Kovalevs mandatory is Braehmer, but I doubt he will want that fight.

Among the 168'ers I only see Ward moving up to face him, but I have the feeling Ward would rather wait for GGG to move up to 168 before he ventures into 175.

Amongst elite fighters, that almost only leaves Chad Dawson as a potential opponent for some time before the end of 2013. He is coming off two losses but he has always been willing to face everyone.

The alternative would be some subpar opponent like Yusaf Mack or maybe they would dust off Glen Johnson one more time. Hope that doesnt happen.

Who do you think he will fight next? I hope he fights again in 2013.

Good point. Fonfara is building a bit of momentum with wins against a couple of post prime names. Not sure he will jump right into a Kovalev fight.

Erdei on the other hand might just be ready to cash in on a decent looking record.

Chad needs a rest from getting knocked out. I'm hoping Ward steps up. That fight would be awesome.

I'm holding my breath for Kovalev vs Froch. Might be the best match up in the game right now. Though, any fight involving these two will be good, but this one might just be great.

From what I read, it looks like he will be facing Fonfara. Kovalev should end it inside four rounds. Kovalev is the best light-heavyweight in the world.

Braehmer is nothing more than Euro-level and his promoters are going to keep him busy defending his Euro belt and making money.  Bellew is going to get his ass kicked by Cloud or Stevenson.  Hops and Bute don't want any.  Kovalev might be looking at a long break or scrounge up a stay busy fight against a scrub, before he can get in there against Cloud/Stevenson.

Of course Smelodies believes Hopkins will win.  He loves Hopkins almost as much as he loves that idiot George Carlin.
