I'm goin' to at least one of these shows.

I feel sorry for your ears. I wouldn't go if I had a backstage pass.

Rush is a symphony of mierda.

The fact that the both of you aren't dead due to blasphemy is a knock against faith. Though the big guy probably is just willing to overlook your ignorance to music.

Here is more brilliance I'm sure snobs like the two of you can't appreciate. I hope you burn in hell together.

Any theologian worth his salt will tell you that God and all the saints and angels hate Rush.

I could like Rush if their lead singer didn't sound like a eunuch.

If all goes according to plan, I'll get to see RUSH in Wichita, KS on August 20th.  Never seen them live.  Hopefully Geddy can still sing well.  I have little doubt all three guys can still play every note of their music.

And for those of you who want to chime in with some shit like, "RUSH sucks!!!" I'll have 4thfans put an AIDS curse on all your mothers.  So don't even fukkin try it.

I saw them live like in 1991. It was the roll the bones tour. It was at the Cap Centre in Landover. Pretty good show.

I haven't read much of this thread, but I imagine Mark should have really liked I Love You, Man since a large chunk of the movie is about this band.

anonymous,

I refuse to believe there's a person in this world who is as big a fan of KIX as you profess to be.  When are you gonna just come out and tell us you were kidding all along?  The joke's gone on long enough.

I bounced at that place for 3 or 4 years. I can't make it this weekend or I would get us in for free. Pops has some shit going on with his feet, nothing major but they did some scraping today and I should be around.

I grew up listening to hair metal and I'm not ashamed to admit it. KIX was my favorite because they were a local band that played in Maryland and PA all the time.

OK, that makes sense.  It's always cool to see one of the local bands make it to the big time, especially if you attended their shows before they reached stardom.

You might like Crack The Sky, they were way before their time. Very eclectic, but jamming rock. There was a MD edge to the soundtrack for Fast Times. Hot Razors was on that, but they never made it national like they should have. They were much better than Kix, who I like as well.

The club Anonumous listed I worked the front of the stage for several Fuel shows before they made it. Their song list was short enough that they would play VanHalen, AC DC & Zeppelin as encores.

I've seen Fuel twice.  They're alright, but I never would have expected them to pull off ACDC, Zep, and VH.  Do you remember if they did those cover justice?

Yeah, it was shocking enough that I remember. Aint Talkin Bout Love, Highway To Hell & Communication Breakdown. They all were good, that singer is real good.

For those of you who haven't seen it, the new documentary BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE is really good.  Those bastards were better musicians at the age of 16 than most guys who play their entire lives.  And if you think Geddy sung high as a grown man, you should see footage of their earliest years playing high school gyms and lolipop stands before Neil Peart joined the band.  He was screaming like a banshee.

The interviews with other musicians were great, everybody from Vinnie Paul, Sebastian Cock, Billy Corgan, the bassist for RATM, etc.

Good show, and it's on PLADIA all week.

It's a channel on DISH Network.  I love it.  Lots of documentaries, but mostly live performances from festivals all over the globe.  A few music videos as well.  It's in 1080i HD, which I believe is Nerd-speak for "damn good picture."

RUSH puts on one hell of a show.  I was pretty optimistic going in, but they were better than expected.  Geddy hit every note, Neil's drum solo was the only drum solo I've ever heard that wasn't boring as hell, and Alex still plays like a madman.  The stage theme was nuts, pyro and lazers all over the place, and the fans stood for three hours, even through the 15-minute break.  And LOUD AS HELL.  They played every song I was hoping for with one exception... Fly By Night.

The fans... there were several little pockets of uber-nerds, usually just a pair of buddies or maybe three guys who damn near sucked each other off the whole night, just like on I Love You Man.

But to my surprise, there were quite a few women there, and some of them were good looking even before I began drinking.

RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The greatest live band of all time, good to see you've found them and experienced the brilliance of a live show.
