If a mythical matchup falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, does it really make a sound?

Whoa....

I really wish that I could add something of value here, but Napoles is a fighter that has slipped under the radar for me.

That said, the more I study Duran, the more I think that he is right there with the most elite fighters that have ever lived.

In the ring, I don't know that you get any better prime for prime.

I'm happy to settle it, amazingly competitive fight. Both guys have it all. Unfortunately, one of them cuts from a breeze and the other has hands of stone. Duran on cuts.

Napoles lost his title on cuts to Billy Backus other than  that was he prone to cutting?

So the most likely result is Duran wins. Napoles had so much success as a Welterweight and even moved up to Middle but he was probably closer to a 140lbs fighter naturally.

This would have been a great fight.  Prime vs prime, I think Napoles would have given Duran fits and maybe even dumped him on his ass at some point in the fight.  But as some have already commented, cuts would likely be a problem and I think Duran at his best could do pretty much everything that Napoles could just a little better.
